Terms & Conditions
1) Check in Times
On arrival – Check in times are: 3pm to 8pm
Late or early arrivals are available on request, we operate a key safe system.
2) Check out Times
On morning of departure- 10.00am during weekday’s and10.30am during weekends and bank holidays.
3) Access to Guest House
Once checked in, guests are provided with a main entrance door key and a key to their bedroom. There is no curfew time, once you have the keys you can come and go as you please.
4) Key Safe System
Blue Shutters operates a key safe system for guests arriving out of hours, and also on Sundays and bank holidays. These guests must contact us directly either by telephone or email to obtain their relevant key safe code.
Each bedroom has an allocated key safe, these are numbered accordingly and can be located on the external wall, through the wooden gate next to the main entrance door.
To operate our keys safes, locate your safe, these are numbered on the front, then simply slide down the black flap on the front to reveal the 4 dials, input the given combination code, ensuring the numbers are lined up correctly, then push the button above the dials to release your keys. You can then use your keys to open the main entrance door and your bedroom.
Should you experience any difficulties operating our key safes or accessing the guest house then please call our Duty Manager on our ‘Out of Hours’ contact number 07502389261.
5) Payment Terms
Full payment is taken upon arrival, not departure. If we have not heard otherwise or you do not check in you in personally (if you have used our out of hours key safe system) then full payment will be taken from the card details that were given when you made your booking.
Please contact us at least 48 hours before you are due to arrive if you do not want payment to be taken off of your given card details.
Blue Shutters accept payment from the majority of main debit and credit providers, however we are unable to accept American Express card payments. Blue Shutters do not accept any cheque payments.
6) Cancellation Policy
A minimum of 48 hours notice is required before your day of arrival if you wish to cancel your booking. Blue Shutters guest house reserves the right to take full payment if 48 hours notice of a booking cancellation is not received.
7) Polite Notice
Please be aware of other guests and our residential neighbours at all times and try to keep noise to a minimum. This does not just include when entering the building and returning to your room, but also when in your room or using our garden. Please pay particular attention to the volume controls on your TV or music device and loud talking or laughter especially late at night.
8) Little People
We consider our guest house a very family friendly establishment. We appreciate that it can be difficult travelling with children and if given notice can provide travel cots and high chairs. We have Free View on all bedroom televisions which includes the very helpful CBeebies channel!
9) Guests with Limited Mobility
We have two bedrooms which are located on the ground floor. These rooms can be reserved when book with us directly and cannot be guaranteed if you book through a third party.
10) Alcohol Policy
Blue Shutters does not have an alcohol licence, however guests are more than welcome to bring their own beverages to be consumed in an adult and sensible manner, taking into consideration our other guests and residential neighbours.
Blue Shutters operates a strict no pets’ policy.
12) Guest Parking
Guest parking is provided off road at the front of the property. We have 8 parking spaces which are available on a first come first served basis. There is additional on road parking with no restrictions across the road directly opposite us.
Guests are advised that the parking is entirely at guests own risk. We the owners do not accept any liability or responsibility for guest vehicles or contents. Our area is generally very good with no reported thefts from vehicles happening for some years. However, we advise you not to leave valuables in your vehicle.
13) Breakages & Damages
We accept that accidents happen, if you damage or break something and you tell us as soon as you can, we can either replace or repair the damage which will then limit any charges to yourself.
14) Smoking policy
This is a non-smoking establishment. Guests must not smoke in any internal part of the building including en-suites. All bedrooms are fitted with smoke detectors. We have under cover areas in the rear garden and guests are welcome to smoke here.
If you are found to be smoking inside you will be liable for cleaning costs and loss of business to us if we need to close down your room for cleaning. Liability includes a charge for cleaning all carpets & upholstery, cleaning/fumigating and letting costs equal to the number of nights the room/s are unavailable to other guests.
15) Future Marketing
By sending us an enquiry or booking accommodation with us, you may be included in our on-going marketing program. From time to time we may send you a newsletter which may also contain details about special offers and discounts. Please advise us if you wish to be removed from our list of contacts.
We take customer care and service very seriously. If you have a complaint or discrepancy please speak to a member of staff during your stay. If you feel unable to do this at the time, please contact us as soon as possible so that your complaint or discrepancy can be dealt with quickly. Please note that by booking accommodation at this establishment you are accepting the above terms and conditions.
